The Provinces bordering Alaska are the Yukon Territory and British Columbia. On the opposite side of Alaska is Russian territory. The nickname for Alaska is The Last Frontier. The Motto for Alaska is North to the future. Anchorage is the most populated town even though it’s not the capital. Anchorage is the most populated city with 298,695 compared to the 32,756 people of the capital Juneau. The population of Alaska is 741,894 people (2016).

In Alaska during the summer temperatures range from 60's -80's degrees usually the nightime and morning's range from the 40's to 50's. Usually in Alaska it is very snowy all year round besides the short period of summer. The record low in Alaska is -79.8 degrees at Prospect Creek on January 23, 1971. The record high is 100 degrees at Fort Yukon on June 27, 1914.
Topography
Alaska has a couple very interesting landforms that includes mountains, beaches, grasslands, and Glaciers. The Grasslands are usually at the base of mountains. The beaches are not comfortable up north because it’s so cold. Denali Mountain, Mount Foraker, Mount Saint Elias, Mount Blackburn, Mount Bona, Mount Fairweather.
